This research aims to analyze the extent of the impact of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) model in forecasting the continuity of economic units, by adopting the strategic analysis matrix (PESTEL) as an intermediary tool to understand the external environment influencing the performance of joint-stock commercial banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange. A sample of private joint-stock banks was selected, and their financial data were analyzed using multiple statistical tools via SPSS software. The research relied on the deductive approach in constructing the theoretical framework and formulating hypotheses, based on local, Arab, and foreign scientific sources, in addition to available digital resources. In the applied aspect, the inductive approach was used to analyze data and test hypotheses, aiming to generalize the results to the study population. A total of 65 questionnaire forms were distributed to the research sample to collect data related to the study variables and analyze them statistically. Correlation models (Pearson), linear regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were adopted. The research concluded that the TBL model constitutes an effective framework in supporting the continuity of economic units, especially when combined with the PESTEL matrix, which enhances the model’s ability to accommodate external environmental variables, thereby positively reflecting on institutional performance sustainability. The research recommends the systematic adoption of the TBL model in Iraqi banks, integrated with the PESTEL matrix, due to its pivotal role in enhancing transparency, improving the quality of financial reporting, and supporting decision-making in a work environment characterized by volatility and challenges.
