The Impact of Using Electronic Accounting Systems on the Relevance of Financial Reports in the Iraqi Banking Sector

This research aimed to study the impact of using electronic accounting systems on the accuracy of financial reports in the Iraqi banking sector. The research used the descriptive-analytical method. The study population consisted of employees in the Iraqi banking sector, and the study used simple random sampling. The study sample consisted of 214 individuals, The research found a high level of use of electronic accounting systems in the Iraqi banking sector, where the arithmetic mean reached 3.59 with a standard deviation of 1.08, with a high level of accuracy of financial reports in the Iraqi banking sector, where the arithmetic mean reached 3.53 with a standard deviation of 1.11. Therefore, there is a statistically significant positive effect of using electronic accounting systems on the accuracy of financial reports in the Iraqi banking sector at 0.01. It was found that whenever the use of electronic accounting systems increased by 1%, the level of accuracy of financial reports in the Iraqi banking sector increased by 0.902%, which shows the validity of the first hypothesis of the research. Therefore, the research recommends prioritizing the implementation of advanced electronic information systems that contribute to increased efficiency, confidentiality, and accuracy, particularly in transmitting financial data to the Central Bank of Iraq.
